Technical Data

The award winning and patented Mantle Building System (MBS) is a hybrid of Stressed Skin Panels and regular Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) systems. The System is used for external, internal and party walls, roofs, cellars and retaining walls.  It is:

Frameless:  There is no need for vertical down-stands for normal designs.  Apertures and Service penetrations can be inserted anywhere in a panel, even at a join and after the initial build completion, if required.  This increases the design scope.

Load-bearing: Loads are carried throughout the entire structure.  With no point loads, lintels are usually not needed.

Composite technology:  The composite nature of the system enables structures which are light in weight, yet exceptionally strong, durable and stable.

Other

Air permeability About 1m3/m2 @ 50pa
Energy Requirements Reduced by up to 90%
Installation Speed 185 sq m or more wall run per 8 hours shift Operation on a 24/7 basis. No need to ‘dry in’. Project phases can run concurrently.
Light Weight 1/15th the weight of traditional build. 1/10th the weight of timber build with leaf of brick Reduced foundation costs: less excavation, cartaway, steel and concrete. Vertical extensions with existing structural support engineering.
Embedded Carbon Less than 30% of structural timber and concrete. 12% of brick. 0.7% of steel. Green Guide A+ NIL GWP. NIL ODP.
Appearance Any external finish, including directly applied render, brick, brick slips, timber etc. Total render-to wallpaper wall thickness of about 275mm. Approx. 10% extra accommodation space per footprint. No need to batten out or wrap/clad with insulated render. Most designs, storey heights and external finishes undertaken.
Strength At least 4 times stronger than engineered timber. Same compression strength as brick. 14m clear span floors (domestic loading 2kN+2kN).
